THE LETTER G

Addi is learning about the letter G at school this week. One of her assignments was to cut out the letter G and tape it to things that begin with that letter. Kade and I were tagged as a Guy and a Girl. She then got to draw us on the back of her homework and bring it back to her teacher.

This is cute! Thank you for your sweet comment. Actually your wonderful mother-in-law encouraged me to pursue a passion, I told her I loved painting and drawing, and I got home from school the next day and she had bought me an art set! I don't know if either of you remember that?! Good lady, she is! and your new babe is darling, sorry I missed your red eye visit!

Hey Amber!! Long time no see. It has been a long time, but lots of good years. Aren't these the cutest kids? And we are all glad Kristene has got the blogging thing down. It's good to see you all whenever I want.

They WILL LOVE IT!! actually jenny called yesterday and wants to do it with the girls next time i am out.
If you go to my blog and click on the smellychicks link there are soap recipes. Those are kinda dangerous for the kids, unless you do the lye, solid, liquid mixture when the kids aren't home. The acid is quite dangerous...butttt actually, now that I think about it, I want to say you can get a melt and pour goats milk or glycerin soap from a place like joann fabrics, then you just add whatever ingredients you want. a really cute idea is toys in the middle, so after washing their hands so many times there is a fun surprise in the middle. I like to use natural ingredients, but you can buy essential oils and colors or things. Maybe I am making this too difficult!

here i called joannes~

Soap molds-JoAnne Fabric about $3 for four molds.

Goats milk soap (melt and pour) JoAnne Fabric about $10

Glycerin Soap (same price as goats milk)

and then you can just use things in your cupboard for scents and suspendables. like herbs and vanilla beans or cinnamon, white sugar, brown sugar, oatmeal, fun stuff fun stuff.

is there such a thing as a soap geek? I think i might be that girl...8) eek!

oops forgot..

use a double boiler and melt the soap solid down to a liquidy goop, don't overdo it just till it is liquid.
lower heat and add your scents and solids if you want things to be on top of the soap i find that spooning it in works best, so it doesn't get mixed in. if you want double layer or triple layer soap you just pour in one layer at a time, let it harden and then pour the next layer in. that is my favorite way to soap because i like to do all different kinds of batches at once, different people like different things, right. if you have more Q's let me know through e-mail. i realize this is getting quite lengthy now...hehe

Hey Kristene, I'm glad I found your blog. It is fun to see your kids, ALL 4 (I didn't know you had another and forgot about the third!). Are you still in Logan? I've enjoyed looking at your page and seeing what you're up to! April

Aren't girls fun? Just seeing those cutout G's makes me think of scrapbooking. Daphne wonders why I don't scrapbook. I just tell her that, I don't need to with her around. She does all of my scrapbooking for me. We have plenty of scrap paper everywhere! It does spread a bit of joy and cheer. So I don't mind. Keep spreading the joy Addi!
