On the second day of our family visit we took the kids to the park. My mom decided to go down the slide with Kade, well, his leg got loose and rubbed against the slide while going down. He ended up fracturing the bone. My mom went to the doctor visit with me and tears started as soon as the doctor announced that it was broken.
He has to wear this splint for four weeks. Although he doesn't seem bothered by it.
A week into the process I found a black spot on his heal. A pressure sore had developed. I took him into InstaCare immediately. The doctor was very concerned. He said that it would take about four months to heal. They would have to scrap away the dead skin every week. He told me to go see the wound specialist in the morning and to make sure, at all costs, that I got in that day.
Joshua was out of town that night so we had a neighbor come over to give Kade a blessing. The next morning I took Kade into the doctor and all of the black from his heal was gone. It is still a sore, but nothing major. I brought my camera to the doctor, having not taken a picture the night before. By this picture you are all going to think I'm smoking something!!

i'm glad he's on the mend and that he has no permanent damage...in fact the only person who's going to remember this incident is you!!! don't ya love that part of motherhood!
