We are now the proud owners of 9 baby chicks. We rarely eat eggs. A dozen lasts us a month. However, we will have eggs everywhere in a few months. Right now they are in my pantry in a Rubbermaid. They have to stay indoors, at 90 degrees for six weeks. At which time they can retire to the chicken coop. We got six egg laying hens and then three foo-foo chicks. I call them foo-foo because they have funky feathers everywhere and it will be a surprise as to whether they are girls or boys, plus they don't lay good eggs.

The kids want to have a lemon aid stand this summer, I told them that they had to sell eggs at it as well. They thought it was funny.

they are so cute when they are small...but, quickly turn mean, at least that's how i remember them. actually, it may have been the turkeys that were mean?! i don't remember, but good luck with the little cuties. the foo foo ones are darling!
Are you starting a hobby farm? :o) I wish someday that we can have a few acres to farm stuff with.
